Visualising the Lung Immune Response

I grew up in a small city in the south west of France called Rodez. I then trained at the University of Toulouse Paul Sabatier III where I was awarded a PhD in immunology under the supervision of Dr. Eric Espinosa and Dr. Salvatore Valitutti in 2016. I moved to London for post-doctoral research at the William Harvey Research Institute, QMUL, in the group of Prof. Sussan Nourshargh. During my psotdoc, I developed new mouse models to analyse inflammatory responses (i.e. vascular permeability and leukocyte recruitment) using confocal intra-vital imaging approaches. I then moved to Imperial College with a BHF CRE Research Fellowship from the BHF Centre of Excellence to study mast cell and pericyte interactions in the context of lung inflammation. I was awarded a Wellcome Trust Career Development Award to start my research group in 2024. I love swimming, cooking and baking and bring cakes at every lab meeting !
Ciara is the first member of the group joining in January 2024 to start her PhD on the role of mast cell mediators during early life allergic asthma. She is funded by the Wellcome Trust.
Ronya started her PhD in October 2025 funded by the Imperial BHF Centre for Research Excellence and NIHR BRC. Her PhD is dedicated to understand how different spatial organisation of endothelial cell regulate lung immune response in health and disease.
Sanjana joined the group in December 2025 as our lab technician to support our in vivo work and help in all the experiments we are doing every day.
Abbie is doing a MSC Immunology at Imperial College and her project is analysing how local delivery of anti-inflammatory cytokines modulate lung immune response.
