Visualising the Lung Immune Response

Projects

Deciphering lung vascular spatial architecture

The lung vasculature hosts distinct vessel types with unique cellular compositions. We combine spatial transcriptomics and confocal imaging to map the cellular landscape of the lung in health and in chronic diseases such as asthma and COPD.

Mast cells in lung health and diseases

Mast cells are immune sentinels whose role in lung health and disease remains poorly defined. Using mouse models, we dissect mast cell activation, degranulation, and their impact on vascular integrity across inflammatory and allergic disease

Role of pericytes in chronic lung diseases

Pericytes are structural guardians of blood vessel integrity, their role in chronic lung disease is largely unexplored. We investigate how inflammatory signals alter pericyte function and drive vascular remodelling in conditions such as asthma and COPD.

Defining new therapeutics for lung diseases

Chronic lung diseases lack treatments aiming at restoring tissue homeostasis. By uncovering the dialogue between lung cells and using local delivery of anti-inflammatory agents, we aim to identify novel therapeutic targets to restore lung integrity.
